Most of the time I forget how to sign in, or my password, you know, all the "technical" stuff.
So what brought me here today? Well a major glitch involving my supreme web master, Angela. Her computer died again and has been sent to the cyber hospital. :-(

For those holiday collar seekers, all the Valentine choices are in the regular options: Sparkly Hearts and Lollihearts are fabric, Red Hearts can be found in "Trims"

Hopefully St. Patrick's Day collars will be able to be added to Holidays. But I will post those here as well.

Shamrocks on Black and Shimmery Shamrocks are the Irish choices in fabrics. All the Celtic Knot trims are available year round as well. If the shimmery shamrocks is not in the regular fabrics (I honestly don't know if it is) send me an email. I can get it for you. The shamrocks on black is being replaced by a similar fabric, which I will post when possible.
I am always open to suggestions, so please let me know if you want something unique or special for your best friend!

Countdown to Louisville!

This year's theme is: "Show for the Roses 2007"
By this time next Monday, we will be well on our our way to Louisville, KY for the Bernese Mountain Dog National Specialty. I have been busy as usual sewing feverishly getting enough stock ready to take. Our two Berner girls are accompanying us this year, as Abby will be a veteran as of tomorrow, May 1. It does not seem possible that she is already seven years old. I took her and Lindsay to a groomer's today for baths--they both look like show dogs! I hope they can stay clean until we arrive next Tuesday....it has been gloomy, rainy and MUDDY here for the past several days.
For those reading this blog, if you are placing an order from May 7-13, I will get to them in the order they are received by date. I also will e-mail everyone to let you know when to expect your order, so please be patient, ok? This occurs only once a year--it's sort of a "working vacation". :-) Just remember, a little bit of inconvenience on your part is a big plus for the Morris Animal Foundation..
I will have wonderful photos to share again, too, so be looking for those probably after I get caught up.
Bye for now,
Debby, Terry
Abby, BARC's Lindsay
Brenton CGC TDInc. A few days ago the temps dropped into the 10-20 degree range at night. We certainly welcome dogs sharing the bed when it's this cold! As you can see, even couch space is at a premium. Pictured (l-r) Chase, Lindsay and Brenton--a pretty tight fit as they range from 60 to 125 pounds each. Abby is just below Brenton on the floor. Mickey is probably in another chair--he has never slept on the floor--ever.
Lindsay is doing great in her obedience class--in just two weeks she has mastered sit and down and is doing recalls regularly. I never will say a dog has "mastered" recalls because I don't think it is ever a flawless command. She is alert, willing and friendly to everyone she meets. Still a little introverted at first, but warms up very quickly, especially if someone has a yummy treat to offer her. The second photo here is one I like to call "St. Leo" or as we call him "Mr. B" or Brenton. Isn't he adorable? I just was amazed that the photographer got him to sit still (I wasn't there, so I don't know if he hypnotized him or something). As you can see, my group photos involve sleepy time.
Check out my new offerings for the year so far. I added a Celtic Knot line of trims at the request of a Leonberger owner--so unique!! Plus a cute ladybug trim, an alligator trim is coming soon, as well as one with terriers.
I will be busily preparing for the Bernese Mountain Dog National Specialty in Louisville, KY this year. "Show for the Roses" is the theme, and I plan to have lots of Edelweiss collars available again, plus lots of new "stuff".
Till next time,

Meet Our New Family Member!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and were able to spend time with family. As the title hints, we welcomed a new family member on December 20th. Meet Lindsay, our 1 year old Bernese Mountain Dog we adopted from BARC, Inc. This organization--which stands for Bernese Auction Rescue Coalition--rescues our beloved breed from puppy mills and auction blocks. Without their intervention, these dogs would live a cruel and isolated existence as breeding machines, often in filthy conditions with meager rations. The sad thing is that the puppies from these dogs are sold in pet stores and many people still do not know the horror behind the industry.
Become proactive in your area by not doing business at pet stores that sell purebred dogs or cats. That is best left to the breeders who do research and have spent many years working to nurture the healthiest dogs available for us to love. There is nothing more heartbreaking than to bring home a puppy expecting it to live a long, healthy happy life and end up with a sick debilitated animal and a mountain of vet bills.
Best wishes for a healthy, happy New Year to all!

The Truman Collar Blog

The Truman Collar Blog

<img style="FLOAT: left; Not that it really matters to me--I am busy inside getting ready for "Pet Appreciation Day" benefit for the Bangor Humane Society on June 24th. But it sure keeps the dogs out of my hair for a while....
Anyway, my fundraiser this time is flag bandanas, our pets should be patriotic, too! Since I am catering to all size dogs this time, not just those big loveable Berners, I needed to create a variety. I decided to go with 12", 16", 20" and 24". The two smaller sizes will be $6 and two bigger sizes will be $8 each. I am donating 50% of the proceeds to the Humane Society, so crossing all our paws that I can sell all 24 bandanas. :-)
As soon as I get a bandana finished, I will convince one of my own canine "models" to show it to you.

Berners from the Specialty!

Hi everyone,
I have a lot of photos of Berners from the specialty--some I can put names to, most I cannot.
